When you see old lanterns marked SMP or GSW – and others, you will probably see a “Diamond D” on the glass globe. This wasn’t registered until 1928 – after SMP merged with GSW. Probably another way of dating these old lamps, one can probably assume no Diamond D, then it’s pre 1928.
