Known for good cheer line of hollow ware. But it seems there is a link to Griswold somewhere along the line – if you look at the number 9 on these dutch ovens, they match Griswold and artifacts on the iron itself show some ghost marks of Griswold patterns. Did James Stewart pull a Findlay and buy patterns from other companies?
It rather seems likely. I have a furnace catalog from the 1920’s that clearly shows the number fonts on the furnaces – and I’m yet to see a piece of cast matching any of these fonts.
